The Power of God's Word

IN the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. ... And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth (John 1:1-2, 14). From Genesis to Revelation, Jesus is the Word. His story is on every page, which is why the Word (scripture) transforms. That is why Job said, Neither have I gone back from the commandment of His lips; I have esteemed the words of His mouth more than my necessary food (Job 23:12). King David said, Thy Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against Thee (Psalm 119:11). King Solomon said, Every Word of God is pure: He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him (Proverbs 30:5). The apostle Paul said of the Word of God, For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).

And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, and He still does. Jesus said of His Word, So shall My Word be that goeth forth out of My mouth: it shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it (Isaiah 55:11). Let God’s word dwell in you richly today.
