What do the following scriptures have in common?
In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and His children shall have a place of refuge. Proverbs 14:26
For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end... Hebrews 3:14
Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. Hebrews 10:35
They all speak of having confidence in Christ.
When we know the will of God and the enemy continually presents to us contrary evidence, our faith, our confidence in the Lord is to strengthen.
“And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us: And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.” 1 John 5:14-15
The second thing we notice is the importance of knowing the will of God. When seeking His will, the enemy will pressure us to be impatient with God to reveal His will. Don’t let him. God is in control of time. He holds our events, situation, circumstances in His hand. Don’t take it out of His hands. Remember, He is still sovereign. He is still omnipotent (all-powerful).
Thirdly, when Chris reveals His will, don’t take His will out of His hands, thinking you know what to do with it. Christ reveals His will so that you can exchange your will for His; this may be the hardest part. Make the exchange, then seek His wisdom, instruction, strength to live His will. Trust Him who holds worlds in His hand. Who speaks and things must happen. Hold onto Christ’s will, and your confidence in Christ will grow. Rest in knowing you’re in the center of His will where you are safe, and there is peace and great reward.
