The Gift

Updated: Nov 8, 2020

WHEN was the last time you shared with someone the day you gave your heart to Christ?

When the apostle Paul shared his conversion, he spoke with confidence in the scriptures, telling of Jesus's power to save. He spoke with earnestness and those who listened could not deny his love for Christ, the crucified and risen, Saviour. They saw in his life that his hope and expectations were centered in Christ. That he was intimately acquainted with Christ (Act 22:1-30). What is a testimony? It is evidence (word, actions, decisions) provided that we know Christ. It is a recounting that we have been with Christ. It is a demonstration that we are not who we used to be. That our life is now hidden in Christ Jesus.

When difficulty arise, some question the God they thought they knew.

Do you know Him? Not just information about Him, but know Him. Many people become disheartened because they thought they knew Christ. They thought that life would be easier, no more battles to fight. No more mountains to climb. When difficulty arise, some question the God they thought they knew. When you read Paul’s conversion experience, don’t stop there. Read what it cost him to follow Christ. “Of the Jews, five times received I forty stripes save one. Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fasting often, in cold and nakedness” (2 Corinthians 11:24-27).

Experimental Knowledge of God

Paul never regretted his decision to follow Christ even though it cost him his life. If the only testimony you have is the day you gave your life to Christ, you haven’t lived for Christ. You haven’t yet decided that Christ is worthy it. But that can change. Today. Starting today asking God to give you an experimental knowledge of Him. Experience His abiding grace. He may not take away the mountain, but He will give you the strength to climb it. Then when you tell your testimony, people will know that your hope is centered in Christ. That you love, the crucified and risen, Saviour.

My Testimony

I have so many, like cloths in my cloths. Which one will I wear today. I know, I will tell you that on my 30th new birth day, I was given the privilege of sharing one of my testimonies at my church. I told my church family how God took a very broken little girl, from a broken home and introduce Himself to me and that my life has never stopped changing. I shared how I learned as an adult that I had dyslexia and how it shaped how I viewed the world and how God took my dyslexia, not by removing from me, but by giving me a love for writing. I write through my dyslexia because I need and have to. Love must and will find a way to express itself and I tell God and other how much I love Him and them through my writing.

Some people will read what I write and cringe because of the grammatical errors they are sure to find. Try and find some comfort in knowing that my writing has greatly improved, but it will always fall very short. Yet, I write and I know God voice is heard over the misplaced comma and run on and on sentences. I write because I'm no longer ashamed to write.

I am a gospel writer and I hope that you will join me in using your gift of writing to let a world that is hungry to hear what your life has been since you met and feel in love with Christ.

Dust off your typewriter, sit up straight and start writing for the Lord. I would like to post the way you express your love for God on my website. Go to my Contact page to let me know your interest in becoming a Gospel Writer for Christ.
