When Jesus came to this world it was in gross darkness. Many had forgotten the truth about God. What Jesus revealed about His Father’s character was not new information, but information that had been veiled by their hatred, their longing to receive an earthly king who would take away their yoke of oppression. They wanted national greatness again. However, Jesus came to open the eyes of the nation that they might see God’s beauty, His holiness. His true character. (John 6:35-71).
Jesus comes to each of us that we too might see God the Father in His true Light (Exodus 34:6-7). And Jesus is still seeking to build in us His spiritual kingdom that He might make us ready to occupy the mansions He has gone to prepare for us (John 14:1-3).
To those who are sitting in darkness.
Revealing Christ Character
As Jesus revealed His Father’s character to the world, can Christ count on you to reveal His character to those around you? To those who are sitting in darkness. “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid” (Matthew 5:14). So let the character of Christ shine out of you today. When you do, Christ is glorified, and those around you will be drawn to Him that is altogether lovely.
