When you lose someone to death, life becomes precious. We acutely know that yesterday is gone; it’s a memory. Today is all we have, and tomorrow is not promised.
Loss demands that we recalibrate. Return to the path that Christ has laid out for us: King Solomon said, “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” Proverbs 4:18
Recalibrate also means to know with precision, accuracy the will of God. It means to get back on course. To allow Christ to readjust the journey.
Okay… but where do we start. By remembering why we gave our life to Christ, why we started this journey with Him, and why we counted the cost of following Christ and deemed Him worth it.
Next, we get back into the Word of God. We read with a new purpose, getting to know Christ more intimately, and abide in Him more deeply.
We value and cherish our time with Him. We seek Him out early in the morning, at noonday and evening. Then we accept His corrections, His counsel, His instructions. We take hold of His strength, and we are at peace.
When you read Isaiah, the prophet believed what he remembered, recorded, and was mindful of Christ. To him, the Lord possessed great goodness toward those who believe. That the Lord was merciful; therefore, he remembers His lovingkindness. (Isaiah 63:7).
Are you ready to let Christ recalibrate you? If so, your life will speak loud of His sacrifice, goodness, and love because you took the time to recalibrate. To readjust. To allow the Lord to reset your course.
