Dear Family and Friends: When faced with a difficult person, remember Satan will never present the truth to you about that person. He is the accuser and can not tell the truth.
If we keep in mind that every soul is precious to God, we will treat each other differently.
And remember, the weapon of our warfare are not carnal.... Therefore, harsh words, unkind thoughts towards that person, quarreling, making threats, and wishing them harm, comes from a carnal mind. And instead of starving the flesh, the flesh has just been served a meal fit for a king.
But, praise be to God, He bids us to,
"Cast down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;" 2 Corinthians 10:5.
What is the knowledge of God? It is the word of God that tells us of Jesus sacrificing love and power to save. The Bible reminds us that Christ has won all our victories. His sacrifice was and continues to be complete.
If you can be honest and admit this is your struggle, then cry out to the Lord for His help. He has promised to aid and give us abundant grace. The Holy Spirit overcoming grace is ours. And with the grace, He puts in us His love for the person that has hurt us.
Remember, we were once an enemy of Christ. Yet through God's extraordinary love for you and me, without hesitation, Christ died for us. The power of the gospel entered in, and we said yes to Christ. His love and long-suffering towards us made the difference.
"For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:6–8
Oh, what love the Father has for each of us. And this same love is ours to love others.
